FUND raisers got on their bikes to boost the Wigan and Leigh Hospice coffers.
Five riders found sponsorships for the annual Manchester to Blackpool charity ride and added almost £700 of the £20,000 donations acknowledged by the hospice council this week. Pedal pushers in the slog were Stephanie Leaver (£127.50), Malcolm Henderson (£216), Bob Taylor (£100), and Ann and Mike Bolton (£250). Most of the latest recent gifts were in memory of loved ones, but staff and patients at Wigan Metro Medical Co-op donated £47.50 in lieu of Christmas cards, Hindley Green Methodist Church £52, the Friends £1,500 and SW Lancashire Bowling League raffle £50. Two speakers also gave their fees, Carole Banks (£15) and David Cookson in lieu of film shows to groups (£60).
