BLACKBURN Rovers boss Graeme Souness officially opened a £10,000 extension to a residential home for the disabled.
The gazebo at the Jack Walker Disabled Unit, at Birch Hall, Blackburn, was built by students from Blackburn College and St Wilfrid's High School, as part of their NVQ Level one in carpentry and joinery.
It has taken six months to build and comes equipped with a ramp for disabled users, with plans for decking around the front and a selection of colourful outdoor plants.
Yvonne Hindle, a teacher at St Wilfrid's, said: "We feel it has been a great accomplishment to achieve a full project like this in such a short space of time. It has been a very worthwhile experience."
