A BAR owner accused of a vicious midnight attack in Bury against a former employee was found not guilty by a jury on Friday.
Denis Bosicek claimed he was battered by his former employer Terence Grady and another man, Juan Larez.
Larez had absconded half-way through the first trial held last year and that jury was discharged.
Now Grady, aged 45, of Bibby Lane, Manchester, has been cleared by the jury after the end of the second trial.
Bosicek claimed the men had burst into his home in Bury and beat him senseless following an argument he had with a former colleague.
But Grady told the court that when he went to see Bosicek he became aggressive and attacked them and they had defended themselves and he must have cut his head when he fell on the floor.
Grady appeared at Bolton Crown Court where he had denied wounding Bosicek with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm and an alternative charge of unlawful wounding.
Bosicek used to work at Grady's Y2K Tapas bar in Silver Street, Bury during the spring and summer of 1999 but left in September that year.
