PLANS to build a house on car park of the former Lamb Inn, Newchurch-in-Pendle, are set to be given the go-ahead after the developer submitted new plans to Pendle council.
Neighbours and the local parish council have objected to the scheme, arguing the new property would be over-large, detract from the conservation area, out-of-keeping with neighbouring properties.
Members of the Barrowford and Western Parishes Committee also expressed concern that the way the house was designed, it would look to have "turned its back" on the village.
But a report to Thursday's meeting of he committee says the applicant has submitted a series of amended plans which address the concerns.
Officers are urging approval, subject to conditions.
The Lamb Inn closed some years ago and is now a private dwelling.
