FENCE-based fabric manufacturer Panaz Ltd succeeded in delivering the goods when it was asked to produce an exclusive fabric for BBC's Home Front home improvement programme.
Representatives from the TV programme's production team approached Panaz at the end of a week and asked about the possibility of producing 30 metres of fabric for soft furnishings and accessories for the following Friday.
The design was being commissioned by programme host Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen -- better known for his eccentric designs on the TV programme Changing Rooms.
Tony Attard, Panaz managing and design director, said: "Due to our work in supplying contract furnishings to major hotel groups, we are quite used to producing fabric in small meterages for single rooms, particularly when a sample room is being prepared in advance of a bulk order. So we were able to accept the BBC's challenge with confidence.
"The original design had been sketched out by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and when a colour copy of this arrived on Monday morning our creative team were standing by ready to re-draw the design to meet technical requirements.
"Some fine tuning of the colours was also required in order to match the paint samples supplied as reference by Home Front."
Viewers will be able to see the finished article throughout the open-plan living space as upholstery, curtains, floor cushions and other accessories.
It will feature in an edition of Home Front broadcast on BBC2 during April.
