TV HOMES makeover guru Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen set an exacting challenge for Fence textile company Panaz.
The company was given just seven days to design and produce some exclusive fabric for the BBC's Home Front lifestyle and home improvement programme.
Managing and design director Tony Attard explained that they were first approached by the Home Front production team at the end of a busy week. They wanted 30 metres of fabric for soft furnishing and accessories by the following Friday.
"The original design had been sketched out by Laurence and, when a colour copy arrived on Monday morning, our creative team was standing by the CAD system ready to redraw it to meet technical requirements," he said.
"Due to our work in supplying contract furnishings to major hotel groups, we are quite used to producing fabric in small amounts for single rooms, particularly when a sample room is being prepared in advance of a big order.
"So we were able to accept the BBC's challenge with confidence."
Using advanced digital transfer printing technology, and with the presses running round the clock, the design was produced. Viewers can see the finished product used as upholstery, curtains, floor cushions and other accessories during an edition of Home Front on BBC 2 in April.
