RAMSBOTTOM UTD 3 GLOSSOP NORTH END 0 RAMSBOTTOM played their first home game since the death of manager Ken Bridge and continued their promotion charge in the NWCL Division One.
The Rams went in front after just five minutes, Russell Brierley scoring from the penalty spot after Chris Willcock was brought down the box.
Glossop looked lively up front as they went for a quick response and Dean Sillett's first-time shot brought a good reaction save from Rams keeper Keith Neild.
Both sides produced some flowing football and five minutes before the break Ramsbottom substitute Barry White on for the injured Darren Bowman, put Ramsbottom two up.
At the start of the second period United went all out for a third and Brierley duly obliged after being set up by White. The goal rocked the visitors and as the game progressed Ramsbottom took a stranglehold on proceedings with skipper Andy Grimshaw outstanding in the centre of midfield.
Glossop keeper Chris Lawton pulled off a string of fine saves as Ramsbottom dominated the play.
