ROTHERHAM United boss Ronnie Moore may be ready to raid Turf Moor again to bolster his side's promotion hopes.
Former Clarets striker Alan Lee has formed a potent striking partnership with Mark Robins to fire the Millers into second place in Division Two.
And Moore could now be weighing up an approach for Chris Brass or Dean West.
Moore has just lost lost the services of right wing-back Darren Garner with a broken leg and after failing to land Preston's former Burnley full-back Gary Parkinson may now turn to either Brass or West.
Moore took in Burnley's reserve game against Wolves on Wednesday night when the pair both played.
And with the duo out of contract in the summer the chances are they would be available if Moore follows up his interest.
The Rotherham boss is also looking to bolster his midfield as he plots a second successive promotion campaign and tried to sign Micky Mellon before he left Turf Moor to rejoin Tranmere Rovers on Monday.
Burnley manager Stan Ternent hasn't released the names of the players he plans to let go but he has informed those involved and will help his fringe squad men to get fixed up where possible as he plans for next season.
"I'm trying to sort things out and I would allow other clubs to speak to them," he said.
Burnley sit things out this weekend as scheduled opponents Tranmere Rovers are involved in an FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool.
But the Clarets are back in action at play-off hopefuls Watford on Tuesday night when they will be looking to get back on the scoresheet after two blanks.
Despite a lack of goals for the front men in recent weeks, Ian Moore is confident that will change and knows he needs to produce the goods to hold off the challenge of leading scorer Andy Payton to partner loan signing Gareth Taylor up front.
He said: "Gareth's come in and done well. He holds the ball up well and I play well of a big man. I think that's perfect for me really. Me and Payts are going to be up there now as rivals and whoever does well plays up front with him, I think.
"I think things are going okay. I could have done with a few more goals, obviously, but hopefully they will come with time.
"Goals come with confidence and I think it'll be okay. I am a confident lad. I had a good game against Fulham and that's keeping me plugging away and I think I'll be fine."
