CHILDREN are continuing to put people's lives at risk by hoax calls from telephone boxes in the Leigh area, police say.
Officers fear genuine 999 calls will not being answered while fire, ambulance and police respond to fake calls which have been reported for several weeks.
Emergency call operators have reported that they can hear children in the background when the hoax calls are made.
Police have already spoken to parents to tell their children about the seriousness of making false calls and have again warned that action will be taken.
