POLICE have been horrified at the number of youngsters risking their lives by climbing on roofs in Leigh. Officers say there have been a spate of calls from people concerned about children on derelict mills and other derelict buildings and scaffolding. There were no accidents and police have spoken to some of the children involved and their parents.
Sgt Mark Bradley said: "We are putting the message out to parents to keep their eye on children. These buildings are not play areas and are very dangerous. We ask parents to warn their children against this serious activity."
