HOSPICE bosses were all smiles after being given a generous donation to repair damage from a yob attack in Hindley.
The staff had been sickened when they discovered the wreckage at Wigan and Leigh Hospice on Kildare Street three weeks ago.
But thanks to the Asda Store in Leigh all the damage, including letters torn off the entrance hall and floor lights smashed as well as scrawled graffiti, can be repaired and tidied up. Asda deputy manager Sheila Unsworth said: "We were appalled to hear of the vandalism through reading the Leigh Journal and wanted to help.
"We received money from our head office because we won the community store of the year award. We wanted to give it to a deserving cause and thought that this was a good local cause."
The hospice treats terminally ill people from across the Leigh area.
