TV cameras will be allowed into courts in England and Wales for the first time.
Major appeals will be screened first, and the experiment may eventually be extended to crown courts.
I don't agree with it.
It's bad enough for defendants stating their case in court before magistrates without the fear of TV cameras to contend with in the higher courts. Don't forget not all of them are guilty.
I fear it could lead to more suicides.
I certainly wouldn't like to think if I ever had to appear in court it would be televised. They could send me to jail before I would have my dirty linen washed in the TV public eye.
