PRESCOT Museum has just 'clocked up' the coveted Charter Mark status for excellence in public service.
Renowned for its unique collection of clocks and watches, it houses a permanent display in an upstairs gallery complete with reconstructions of watchmakers' workshops and the precision tools they would have used.
On the ground floor, Prescot Museum stages some of the most colourful, inter-active, interesting and informative exhibitions ranging from space facts and fiction to puppets from across the world.
Councillor Graham Morgan, Knowsley Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure, said: "It is a tribute that Knowsley Museum Service and the borough as a whole have been awarded a charter mark by the Government.
"The museum service has gone from strength to strength over recent years and it provides an excellent service for local people and for many of those who visit our internationally-famous specialist museum, from other parts of the country and even abroad".
