MORE than 300 senior citizens enjoyed a wonderful night at the Lowton Civic Hall as guests of the Rotary Club of Newton-le-Willows.
The idea first came to fruition some years ago when the club wanted to benefit the community who had supported the Rotary Club for more than 25 years.
Transport, admission and light refreshments in the interval would all be free and what started as a one-off concert years ago has become an annual event.
Residents from Newton, Earlestown, Burtonwood, Golborne, Culcheth and Lowton boarded five coaches for the Old Time Music Hall concert.
MC and comedian Bobby King, conjurer Paul Netterfield, pianist Margaret Halliday and singers Margaret Brooks and Gill Maxwell provided the entertainment with songs from the shows.
The organisers were delighted to see so many senior citizens go out for the evening and meet with friends and enjoy themselves.
The Rotary Club thanked the senior citizen organisations who assisted in distributing the tickets for the evening.
