A DRUNKEN woman who smashed her way into her sister's house in the early hours, told police she had been cold and needed somewhere warm to sleep.
Burnley Magistrates heard how Joyce McCamon, 35, knew there was a 14-year-old boy in the Nelson property, but said he would not let her in.
McCamon, of Hurstwood Avenue, Burnley, admitted damage and was bailed until March 29.
Tom Snape, prosecuting, said the boy was woken by somebody banging on the front door at 1am. He then heard the sound of breaking glass coming from the kitchen.
He found one of the panels of the main window in the kitchen was smashed and he could see the defendant standing in the back yard, shouting to be let in.
Mr Snape said the teenager went to a phone box. When he got back, two police officers had arrived and the defendant was lying on a settee.
Officers could seen McCamon was very drunk and she told police she had smashed her way into the property because she was cold and needed somewhere warm to sleep.
