MAY I express our amazement at the news that the Cubes bar in Blackburn has had its licence cut by 30 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights supposedly on the grounds of food not being served (LET, March 1). My friends and I have been customers of the owner, Scott Moon, ever since he brought his own brand of entertainment to Blackburn, starting with Cafe de-Ream and going on to the massively popular Cubes.
No one, but no one, goes in Cubes for food, but for the superb dance music and atmosphere.
Food is available, but everyone is more interested in having a good dance, not a good feed.
My friends and I are thinking about getting a petition up to protest about this cut in our enjoyment, but no doubt it will fall on stony ground.
Never mind, Mr Moon, when your proposed night club is built, Blackburn will rock again.
