AUSSIE Greg Dimery will be Atherton CC's new professional next season.
Dimery is a true all-rounder, being both an opening batsman and opening bowler as well as an accomplished spin bowler when required.
He has played cricket in England for eight years, firstly with Little Lever in the Bolton League before joining Leigh as professional in the Liverpool Competition for three years.
He then moved into the Bolton Association with Elton. While with the Bury-based club he won the professionals' prize in 1998, scoring over 1300 runs and falling just eight short of 100 wickets. Last season he played his cricket with Cheshire League side Oulton Park.
Dimery has spent the occasional winter in England where he has proved himself a more than capable soccer player with Atherton Town in the Manchester League. Back home in Australia he is an accomplished Aussie Rules player.
