POLICE have issued more details about a youth they want to speak to after a bus driver was robbed at knife-point.
The victim, who does not want to be named, was driving the number 346 bus along Bolton Road, Darwen, at about 11pm last Wednesday when the passenger produced a knife and demanded money.
Cash was taken and the youth ran off up Blackburn Road towards the cemetery.
Since an article appeared in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph two witnesses have come forward and given detectives more information.
Det Sgt Ian Critchley of Darwen CID said: "As a result of the information we have been given we now believe the youth went on an earlier bus to rob the driver but was disturbed when a man ran on to get the bus.
"We also believe the offender was with two other youths seen hanging around the Evertaut car park between 10pm and 10.30pm.
"One youth got a bus and the other was seen walking into the town centre, leaving the offender on his own.
"We would like to speak to the man who got on the earlier bus and ask him if he saw anything." Descriptions of three youths have been issued by police. The main offender is described as white, aged 16 to 20-years-old, 5ft 10ins tall, slim with a slim face. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, a blue hooded jacket with a white logo on the back and blue trousers.
DS Critchley said: "It is really important we catch this man, the bus driver was put through an horrific ordeal."
