BREAKFAST is the most important meal of the day, but a morning feast laid on at a Bury church tomorrow(Wednesday, March 14) could mean the difference between life and death for people in the Third World.
To mark International Fair Trading Week, Bury United Reformed Church is cooking up a breakfast made from food produced without exploiting poor countries.
The minister of the Rochdale Road-based church, the Rev Ruth Wollaston said: "We are using cereal and coffee producing firms which encourage fair trading."
Fair-trading firms are categorised as companies which pay their workers a decent wage, not using them as cheap labour and giving them the chance to escape the poverty trap.
Breakfast will be served from 9am-10.30am. A £2 charge will cover the cost of the food, and everyone is invited to go along.
