HOLKER OB 3 NELSON 2
TABLE-TOPPING Nelson suffered a shock loss to Holker Old Boys -- their first defeat in 19 NWCL Division Two outings.
And it could have been much worse for John Bailey's men who were trailing 3-0 until Jonathan Irvine scored two in the final six minutes.
Nelson fell behind to a Graham Foster brace in the 23rd and 36th minute before Colin Waters added a third 11 minutes from time.
Striker Irvine gave the league leaders some respectability, firing home on 84 minutes and he added another with one minute to go -- but it was all over by then.
Bailey will take heart that Irvine, returning after being blighted from injury, has scored four in two games -- although they will be keen to rectify this result on Saturday with Squires Gate breathing down their necks.
