YEAR 1 youngsters of St James' Primary School, Clitheroe, were in for a treat when they visited Byres' wine merchants in Clitheroe and were shown around the wine stores.
Each of the five-year-olds were given a glass of wine-coloured pop so they could pretend to wine taste and that helped to wash down the breadsticks, grapes and cheese which they were given as an additional special treat.
The day was part of Industry Day which the whole school was involved in.
At Byrnes' they were shown the thousands of bottles of wine and told where they came from in the world and how they were made before being able to act out the parts of true wine-tasters.
