EAST Lancashire businesses are being offered the opportunity to brush up on new legislation covering e-mail and the internet.
Northern Technologies has organised a free seminar 'Legal 2001' on Thursday, March 22 which will be presented by solicitors Donald, Race and Newton.
Business manager Debra Brown said it was vital for companies to keep up to date with legislation affecting businesses.
"With new laws being passed all the time, it is often a good idea to check what legal obligations exist," she said. "For example, there are new regulations protecting the rights of consumers who order purchases by telephone, mail order, fax or the internet. Companies that fail to provide consumers with the required information will expose themselves to being sued for breach of contract."
"The aim of this seminar is to assist firms in avoiding potentially expensive mistakes that could result in legal action such as an unfair dismissal being taken to court." For further information contact Lucy Healy, Tel: 01282 724200.
