CHARITY shops be warned, savers who failed to change defunct £20 notes by the February 28 deadline are trying it on.
Some unscrupulous person passed one of the notes, which featured scientist Michael Farraday, to an unsuspecting volunteer at the hospice shop on Friday.
What a rotten thing to do to take advantage of a charity helper.
People who still have the old notes please don't lumber others with changing them - even if local banks won't taken them now the Bank of England will still swap them.s
