FORMER Bolton councillor and Bury fanatic Paul Perry is proving he's got real staying power by becoming the club's unofficial mascot for the historic visit of Pakistan next week.
Mr Perry, a Shakers fan since he was a youngster who even came back from his honeymoon to watch a match, has handed out thousands of leaflets to Asians throughout Bury, Bolton, Rochdale and Oldham in a bid to get a full house at Gigg Lane for Wednesday night's match (7.30pm).
And he will be at Gigg Lane, respendent in Pakistan shirt and Bury scarf, from noon on Wednesday right up to kick off welcoming visiting supporters as they arrive at the ground.
Mr Perry is pictured outside Gigg Lane's Football Superstore with Chas Khehra of Sapphire Enterprises the tour sponsors.
