"VICTIM" (Your Letters, Mar 9) should not be surprised at the feeble reply that he received from Ch. Supt. Hollowood of Bury Police.
After I had asked many questions, over a very long period, I came to the conclusion that the police do not care. Despite the smug claims that the force makes, it is not very good. Though the force constantly claims that it is undermanned, it is only a few months since three Bury officers were reportedly dismissed by the Chief Constable for abuse of power and other misdemeanours.
Perhaps "Victim" should ask Bury Council representatives on the GM Police committee for their opinions. After all, there will be local elections next year, not to mention a general election in a matter of weeks. So how do our MPs justify what I see as the poor quality of policing?
