MAY I thank everyone who gave so generously to my sponsored swim to help put Bury Football Club back where it belongs: on top.
Once things starts to slide for a football club it is very hard to get back. So it is to everyone's benefit that they pull together.
I loved every minute of my sponsored swim and I will try to help again in the near future. I didn't learn to swim until I was 78 because I was afraid. Now I don't worry. It is wonderful and I could go on and on. It keeps me in fine fettle.
My next sponsorship is for Sharron Davies and Muscular Distrophy and, at Mercer Hall pool in Great Harwood, between Dec 1 and 31, I will be swimming a total of 22 miles, which averages out at 30-40 lengths a week.
Watch "It's only TV but I like it" on BBC1 on Friday, March 23. I am there doing my bit to make people laugh.
Thanks again and remember, "there's nowt wrong wi' gradely folk."
