All the youngsters released from Academies across the country played in a couple of games in front of watching scouts from Premiership and Nationwide League clubs.

Burnley youth team coach Pashley was caught on camera himself in one of the national papers and his observations to Stan Ternent could well lead to a couple of players arriving for a trial spell at Turf Moor.

DESPITE his outstanding form for Burnley, goalkeeper Nik Michopoulos hasn't been able to force his way back into the Greek national set-up.

Coach Vassilis Daniil has named the keepers from Panathinaikos and Olympiakos Piraeus in his squad to face Germany in their World Cup qualifier next weekend.

FORMER Clarets midfielder Mark Robertson has continued on his travels and pitched up in Scotland.

The Australian under-21 international left Turf Moor last summer and joined Swindon Town.

However, things didn't work out at the County Ground and after a spell back Down Under he has signed for Scottish Premier League club Dundee to join Ivano Bonetti's cosmopolitan band.

Robertson, who previously had a trial spell with Rangers, does have strong connections north of the border, however, through his Scottish father.

CLARETS assistant boss Sam Ellis isn't ready to hand all the credit for Burnley's improved away form to fit-again defender Lee Briscoe.

Burnley have a win a draw to their name since Briscoe returned from injury but ahead of his return to Hillsborough today, fellow Wednesday old boy Sam Ellis revealed: "You would think on the last two performances we've missed him while he's been out. You can't say that until he comes back and you see.

"And you could even say that fortunes have changed since he came back. We put it down to coincidence, although he might not !"
