CRIMINAL damage incidents are on the rise in Darwen with four taking place on the same night.

The door of a green Volkswagen Polo was damaged on Birch Hall Avenue, causing £50 worth of damage and £1,000 worth of damage was caused in two separate incidents.

A Peugeot 106 was extensively damaged when it was parked on Stansfield Street. The same fate hit a Rover 400 parked on Quaker Lane.

A window at a DIY shop on Duckworth Street was put through causing £100 worth of damage on the same night.

Police did not say if the incidents were linked to the theft of four small hammers from buses at Darwen Coach Services last week.
