ATHERTON WI saw the work done at the Mary Sheridan Centre to help children with special needs at their monthly meeting.
Members were given a talk and shown a video of the centre at Leigh Infirmary which caters for children upto five years old.
A group of members overcame cramped seats and a hot theatre to see a matinee performance of Giselle by the English National Ballet Company, while others visited Southport's Floral Hall for the Lancashire Federation of Women's Institutes' Spring Council meeting.
On March 22 a fashion show takes place in the Jubilee Hall at 7pm, and £1.50 admission includes a raffle.
