A WOMAN was prodded in the face in an alleged road rage incident in Atherton.
Jackie Ledger, 40, from Astley was travelling to work in Atherton when a car began driving close to her bumper along Tyldesley Road.
The male driver then overtook her at speed until stopping at the traffic lights at Haulton Street when he jumped out of his car and came over to Mrs Ledger, who was travelling alone. He began shouting and screaming at her that he was going to kill her and poked her face with his finger through the open driver's window before going back to his car and driving off.
Terrified Mrs Ledger managed to take down part of the car's registration and later contacted police. She said the street was very busy when the incident happened at around 9.30am and is appealing for witnesses.
The man was around 6ft tall and was driving a blue Ford Galaxy-type vehicle.
Anyone with information should ring Leigh police on 0161 872 5050.
