nCHALKING on pavements is illegal according to a Radio 2 legal eagle. I couldn't believe it, but I suppose it is defacing property when you think about it. It's a good job this law wasn't enforced when I was small and played in the streets or I'd have still been inside.
The streets of Westleigh were multicoloured with hopscotch boxes and numbers. Playtime vandalism in a way I suppose, but who cared? No one then, because things were much more laid back. Probably these days kids would be jumped on from a great height for spoiling the street. No wonder they don't play out any more.
