AN under-strength Leigh RMI Under 9s side crashed to a 2-1 defeat at Farnworth Cougars.
Goalkeeper David Rawlinson won the man of the match vote but without the usual threat on the wing posed by Oliver Parker who looks set to miss the rest of the season with a broken left arm, the young Railwaymen looked lacking up front. Even the one goal they did get was put in by a Farnworth defender.
A goal from Chris Priest and an outstanding display from Andrew Alldred saw the Under 15s to a well deserved 1-0 away win at Hindsford.
The Under 13s seem to be completely out of luck at the moment going down to a second successive 1-0 defeat despite creating more chances than the opposition. This week it was top of the league Beechfield who were the beneficiaries of the Leigh team's misfortune.
"We just can't believe what is happening," exclaims assistant manager Phil Grundy. "We couldn't ask of more from the lads because they gave it everything they had then Beechfield break away and get a winner with just eight minutes left. It's incredible."
