HINDSFORD Junior Football Club are on the search for footballing stars of the future.

Due to the success of the club at the grass roots level most of the juniors teams are on the look out for fresh talent to join their squads for the forthcoming season.

Paul Calland, manager of the Tigers U7 side has had success with his team at league and cup level and also won the prestigious Liverpool Academy Tournament. He is looking to bolster his squad with enough players to form a second team for next season's league campaign.

"I will be moving up with my current team to become under eights next year", he says, " and while I would be concentrating my efforts there it is important that we keep every age group open by forming a new under sevens side. Anyone interested in having a go should give the club a ring."

It's a sentiment that is carried on throughout the mini-soccer age group.

John Bradshaw, currently with this years under eights added: "It is club policy that no child, whatever their ability, is turned away. If you wish to train with our club you do so for as long as you want to. Its true that not everyone can get into the league squads, but here again, we try to help. The more players we have registered the more teams we enter, which gives more children the chance to play regular football."

Ken Hill, manager of the Under Nines Devils, is thankful for such a club policy. He explains: "Earlier this year I lost almost an entire team due to various reasons, including progression to recognised football league and premiership academies, but I was thankful that Hindsford don't turn away children. I was in a position where I was able to fulfil the fixtures of both my teams because of the huge squad of players I had registered.

"If we had been restricted to just the essential players, then the majority of the children who now make up why Whites team would have left and gone to other clubs. As it was, the structure at Hindsford is such that, they stayed and have been rewarded with competitive footbal."

While these teams have at least one more season in the mini-soccer environment, the Under Tens Sharks are ready to make the big step up from seven to eleven a side football and their manager, Derek Babilinski is raring to go.

"We have spent three years building towards the full side game, and while we have a very strong squad we are always looking to improve it. Ideally we would like to put forward two teams next season, just as we have had for the previous three seasons."
