THE spate of destruction by earthquakes seems part of a chain reaction across the world. I am convinced that the biggest contributing factor was when India and Pakistan each detonated seven underground atomic devices.
It doesn't need a Brain of Britain to deduce that 14 massive explosions in a sensitive area is bound to evoke a reaction in a fragile environment.
A much stronger control of atomic power is needed when it can cause so much destruction elsewhere.
