A STUDENT has been left facing an uphill battle to pass exams after his notes were stolen.
Thieves smashed the passenger side window of Pedron Soltani's green Nissan Micra and took a blue Reebok bag which contained every note he had taken for his accountancy degree since Christmas.
Pedron, 18, said: "It leaves me with a mountain to climb. My end of year exams are just after Easter. Every single note I had taken was in there, they covered all aspects of the degree.
"I suppose I will have to borrow notes from other people, but obviously I would prefer to use my own."
As well as the coursework, a Goodmans in-car CD player and a Next cream coat were taken. But Pedron, a student at Manchester University, said it was the coursework which was the most important item.
"The CD player can be replaced," he said, "but the coursework is worth more, this has now had a really big effect on my chances of getting a good grade in my exams.
"I have not got in touch with any of my friends at university and asked if they would lend me their notes so I could photocopy them."
Pedron's car was beside Checco's Restaurant on Mill Street, Clayton-le-Moors which is run by his family.
Detectives at Great Harwood said the offender struck sometime between 9.15pm and 10pm on Friday. The total value of property stolen is £206.
A spokesman for Great Harwood police said: "The notes do not have a financial value but they are extremely important. I would ask the person that took them to return them as the victim desperately needs them."
Pedron, of Applegarth, Barrowford was left hoping the three lever-arch files of notes would turn up.
"I hope the person that has taken my property returns it, particularly the notes. But I am not holding out much hope."
