WHAT! We have no money? But as I write this 4 workers, 2 vehicles and I think I can see 6 trees being loaded onto a digger destined for the green hill of Greaves Park behind the scout hut. Who wants them? Why is the council spending money on this zero priority and what value will it add to the open green space we all enjoy? It can only serve to hinder the marvellous vista across the park to the lakes, provide another shaded area where youngsters gather to drink. There has been an attack from behind the trees already there.
Why make it more cluttered, dark and why destroy the views across the bay which local residents, photographers and visitors to the park enjoy so much.
It's unbelievable surely there are other areas which are desperate for tree planting and enhancements, if not then we should not be spending money like this.
We have not been asked, consulted or informed, where is the plan, proposal, consultation, information - city council strikes again! (stopped for lunch now, I'm not sad enough to time them but I dont expect work will resume before 1pm).
