AT last an apology from the Lib Dem spokesman. He apologised for stating that neither Gordon Marsden nor Joan Humble lived in Blackpool. He admits that he was wrong as they both live in the resort. He was misinformed, so he claims. Perhaps he would consider checking his facts in future. Readers should be able to rely on the truthfulness of letters printed.
However, Steven Bate (The Citizen, March 1) then goes off on a tangent, again asking for yet another debate, then immediately making more unfounded statements.
He claims that I speak for 24 Labour councillors and two MPs. His letter then states that I have the advice of a team of "highly paid council officers". REALLY! Well that is certainly news to me Steven. The truth is your letter is nothing but pure fiction.
The truth is I am the press officer for my MP Joan Humble and the Blackpool North and Fleetwood Labour Party.
It is quite clear that Steven, in pursuit of personal publicity, will say or write anything, obviously believing that "all publicity is good". I do not agree. I believe truth will out -- it usually does.
Jack Croysdill, Press officer for Joan Humble MP.
