HAVING read Val Cowell (Citizen, March 1), stating quite correctly that Europe needs Britain far more than we need Europe, yes we would indeed survive and not have the financial drain of £1.4 million per hour if we did come out.

As the predicted election draws near, I would also suggest people stop and ask yourself, Do you really want Europe with all its rules and regulations that are costing so many of us our livelihood?

Labour and the Lib Dems state that they can't wait to be in Europe, that to vote for a smaller party would be a wasted vote, and although U.K.I.P are the only party to state they want out of Europe, they are also among the smaller parties on recent election results. They are behind the Lib Dems, which leaves us with the Conservative party. Although not perfect, half a loaf is better than none and would effectively give Britain another five years breathing space.

The Conservatives have pledged to keep the pound for the next five years and at their Harrogate conference stated that they would re-negotiate terms etc,of treaties already signed. After all, we do have a very strong hand, being the second largest contributor into this club.
