A BURY FC player's kiss-and-tell story may help a five-year-old who is seriously ill with leukaemia.
Paul O'Shaughnessy is believed to have sold his story about his relationship with Hear'Say star Suzanne Shaw, to a Sunday tabloid for several thousands of pounds.
But the 19-year-old midfielder, who claims to have gone out with Suzanne for four years after they met at St Gabriel's High School, Bury, is believed to be putting the money to good use and donating part of the payment to the "Vanessa Fund" for Vanessa Maddock, from Rochdale, who is seriously ill with leukaemia and needs specialist treatment in America. Her father Keith Maddock, a life-long supporter of Bury FC and who runs their club-call line, is hopeful Paul will support the fund.
He told the BEN: "Paul is a great bloke and I'm sure he'll donate some of the money to the fund."
Meanwhile, Hear'Say were today enjoying their first day as fully-fledged pop stars, finally cut free from the ITV production company which brought them fame and riding high at Number One in the charts. The manufactured band yesterday stormed to the No 1 spot with Pure and Simple and were presented with a Guinness Book of Records award for the best selling debut single of all time.
