A SPONSORED dog walk in Heaton Park next month is set to go-ahead despite the foot and mouth epidemic.
The event, organised by Manchester Dogs Home, has been given the thumbs-up by park officials, even though they have closed the Farm Centre as a precautionary measure.
The park remains unaffected by the outbreak.
The walk takes place on Sunday, April 15, to raise money for the Lost Dogs' Hospital Appeal.
Organisers want dog owners to turn out in force for the event which will include an Easter egg hunt, face painting, balloon modelling and other fun attractions.
Dogs can be registered for the walk by calling the dogs' home on 205-7136 between 9am and 5pm weekdays.
