FUND-RAISERS met at a pub to celebrate the success of a sparkling charity event.
Members of the Blackburn Rotaract Club gathered at the Railway Hotel, Pleasington, after raising more than £1,600 for the Life Education Trust, which runs mobile classrooms to educate youngsters against the danger of drugs.
The money was raised by the club's annual bonfire, which was hailed a success despite the bad weather.
Rotaract president Vicky Bath said: "While the club is pleased to have raised so much money against a backdrop of poor weather last autumn, we are determined to raise even more for charitable causes in future years."
Vicky also appealed for help from local businesses and community groups to help sponsor next year's event. If you can help telephone 01254 55988.
