BUILDER Shaun Iredale broke his way into his former home and kicked the walls in a rage, terrifying his ex-partner, a court heard.
Iredale, 36, of West Lane Cottage, Downham, was bound over in £50 to keep the peace for six months by Blackburn magistrates after admitting a breach of the peace.
Richard Mitcalf, prosecuting, said the incident arose out of the breakdown of a relationship with Maria Rudge, with whom he has a child.
Iredale had been asked to leave their home last week and on Monday night Miss Rudge was woken by the sound of someone knocking on her bedroom door.
"It was Iredale, who began shouting loudly and eventually broke into the house by breaking a door panel," said Mr Mitcalf.
"He came into the house and started shouting and kicking the wall and it is fair to say she was terrified."
Daniel King, defending, said the relationship between Iredale and Miss Rudge had been strained for some time. He had received a tax rebate which had been paid into their joint account.
"She is now the sole signatory on that account and refused to give him any of the money," said Mr King.
"He went round last night, the frustration all boiled over and he accepts that he behaved in an unacceptable fashion."
