FOLLOW the trials and tribulations of the Ice Challenger team, the first explorers to drive across the Bering sea.
For a matter of weeks each year, the Old World and the New are united by an unstable ice bridge which forms when the Bering Sea, between Alaska and Siberia, freezes in the bitter cold of the Artic winter. The 56 mile wide bridge is a shifting mosaic of ice floes and the entire pack drifts north at a rate of 3mph.
No one had invented a vehicle that was capable of driving across thin ice safely, until a man named Steve Brooks invented the first hovering car.
The Ice Challanger crew are determined to conquer this extreme challenge and in the process break a world record. The team hope to make thousands of pounds for their official charity Just a Drop (Red Cross).
