ROSSENDALE bright sparks Edward Finn and Jamie Auty are switched on to a promising career as electricians thanks to ELTEC modern apprenticeships.
The 16-year-olds joined W.H. Good as electrical installation apprentices last year after visiting the Jobs 2000 event at Burnley Football Club last year.
With their training provider JTL, Edward and Jamie are aiming for NVQ Level 3 and technical qualifications, leading to industry-graded status.
Edward, a former pupil at Haslingden High School, said: My modern apprenticeship gives me a chance to earn a wage while I gain valuable skills and qualifications. There is so much variety, with a practical side as well as the theory."
W.H. Good, a leading technical services provider with a workforce of around 80, will be among employers taking a stand at the Jobs 2001 events at Blackburn Rovers and Burnley FC.
