THE Shakers head for the south coast today looking to complete a revenge mission for the second time in five days. After defeating Wrexham on Tuesday night - a team who trounced Andy Preece's side 4-1 at Gigg Lane earlier in the season - it's the turn of AFC Bournemouth to get a taste of the rejuvenated Shakers.
In a freak match back in October the Cherries gave Bury a 5-2 home hammering thanks to four goals from youngster James Hayter.
That defeat still hurts in the Shakers dressingroom and, like in North Wales a few days ago, Preece's men will be keen to set the record straight at Dean Court.
"We'll go out with the same attitude as we did against Wrexham," explained Preece.
"Bournemouth are a good young side and in Jermain Defoe they have a quality striker who has proved his worth to them."
However, Defoe may not feature in the game as he is in line for England U-18 duty and could be rested for tomorrow.
Cherries boss Sean O'Driscoll also has striker Steve Fletcher out with an ankle injury and swooped late yesterday afternoon for Leeds' 20-year-old striker Warren Feeney on loan to the end of the season.
He is expected to make his debut tomorrow.
While O'Driscoll has striker problems there's no such worries for Preece who, after capturing Jon Newby from Liverpool earlier this week, was delighted to sign Crewe marksman Colin Cramb on loan for the rest of the season.
The Scot, who has been a revelation since linking up with Newby turned down a move to promotion-chasing Walsall to stay at Gigg - a decision that Preece believes is a good sign.
"We must be doing something right if the like of Jon and Colin want to stay with us," added Preece.
"Crewe still want to sell him but the money they are talking about is out of our league at the moment.
"He has two-and-a-half years left of his contract at Gresty Road to run and they are talking about £100,000 but we'll try and sort something out."
PAUL Barnes could be on his way to Nationwide Conference side Nuneaton Borough on loan to the end of the season.
A deal could be agreed prior to the non-league transfer deadline next Thursday (March 29).
