PLAYING an unbeaten St Helens team with several key players missing, Leigh Under 11s went down 16-6.
Leigh started well and after several drives Lyndon Robertson broke the line and went over only to be denied by a knock-on. Prop Daniel Weaving, who was causing the Saints all sorts of problems, had to go off with a twisted knee. The Saints scored twice in the first half to lead 12-0.
Carl Ashall managed to pull the score back with an individual effort converted by Steven Grundy. With yet another injury forcing Iain Jolley to come off, the Saints attacked his wing to score.
