GARETH Taylor is relishing a Turf Moor return after taking the next step towards becoming a fully signed up Claret.
The big striker has signed a month's extension to his loan deal from Manchester City so will again spearhead the Burnley attack at home to former club Queens Park Rangers tomorrow.
"I'm very pleased. Like I've said, I'm just happy to be playing football for a big club like Burnley. I think it takes me to the Birmingham game at home. There are about seven games this month which is brilliant and I'm looking forward to it," he said.
Having extended the agreement before yesterday's transfer deadline Burnley will be able to secure a third month to keep Taylor to the end of the season.
And the Welsh international has his sights on staying even longer than that.
"I've stated before and the manager knows I'm happy here. I like the place and the early signs are good and I will be keen to talk to the club in the summer," he added.
Burnley are back on home soil for the first time in a month and looking to pick up where they left off with back-to-back wins against Fulham and Huddersfield Town.
"We've been on the road with a few tough away games so it will be nice to get back to play a few home games," Taylor said.
"We got four points from the four games and you would probably say at the start you'd take a draw from every game but I think we've blown hot and cold a bit, either done really well or been disappointing. So if we can get that bit of consistency back it bodes well for the remainder of the season." The Clarets loan-man had a similar spell at QPR last season and didn't expect Rangers to be coming to Burnley battling to avoid relegation to the Second Division.
He added: "I know a bit about them. I'm probably a little bit surprised but if you go on a run of poor results all of a sudden you can get dragged down into that relegation fight.
"We'll be expecting a tough game tomorrow because that's when teams, like Sheffield Wednesday, are going to be fighting and playing for their lives really, just to get some sort of result.
"They're not always the easiest games but we're ready for it, back home again and looking forward to it."
Taylor is bidding to open his Turf Moor goal account and admits that Burnley need to step up their strike-rate to finish the season strongly.
"We will be looking to improve on that," he said. "We looked at the video from the Sheffield game and the crosses into the box have been a bit disappointing. You've got to try and miss out the first man.
"We've been working on that in training and hopefully we'll get a lot more in the box.
"There are some huge games coming up. I think the remaining ten games are all big ones in their own way so it's exciting times. "We probably are safe but I've been in this situation before when you put a string of results together you can quite easily make the play-offs."
The Clarets are forced into two defensive changes with Graham Branch set to replace the injured Lee Briscoe and Gordon Armstrong ready to drop back to cover for the absence on international duty of Ian Cox. Paul Cook will also return in midfield.
Burnley from: Michopoulos, Weller, Branch, Davis, Thomas, Armstrong, Cook, Ball, Mullin, Moore, Taylor, Payton, Little, Maylett, Smith, West, Crichton.
QPR from: Harper, Plummer, Brown, Baraclough, Knight, Perry, Peacock, Murray, Darlington, Kiwomya, Crouch, Thomson, Bignot, Maddix, Wardley, Bruce, Miklosko.
