ASTLEY & Tyldesley stage their opening match of the 2001 Cycle Speedway season on Sunday at the Gin Pit track.
The first of five events starts at 12 noon, with the opening match of the Northern Fours League, featuring Astley & Tyldesley, Stoke 'B', Stockport and Bury. This is followed at 1 pm by the first of three categories in the Northern Junior League, U-13 then U-16 then U-19. Completing the day's racing at 4 pm is the second Northern Fours League match.
Astley & Tyldesley go into the match with the backing of new team sponsors, CTA Direct, of Elliott Street, who are Tyldesley's leading computer suppliers.
Spectators are always welcome, with admission and car parking free.
The club also holds weekly Wednesday night training sessions, between 7 and 9 pm, for all interested parties at just £2 per session.
