ONE in seven people in Wigan and Leigh care for a disabled or ill relative, Scope has reported.
With approximately 44,000 people voluntarily caring for a relative in this area alone the report also worryingly considers how many disabled people are living alone without this support.
Representing the views of all disabled people and their families, Scope is lobbying for change in the Wigan and Leigh area.
A grant recently awarded from national Scope is being used to raise the awareness of disability issues to children and young people in the Wigan and Leigh area.
