HIGH school pupils from the Leigh area have been given a taste of higher education by taking part in a year-long special project.
The students who previously may not have seen it possible to get a degree have been involved in the project, Access All Areas, run by Wigan and Leigh College.
The project involves letting the students visit higher education establishments, such as the University of Central Lancashire and Edge Hill, where they can view the way of life and certain events.
The pupils from various schools in Leigh, such as Bedford, Mornington in Hindley and Westleigh Schools, have also attended activity days at Haigh Country Park.
Next Wednesday, the pupils will receive their certificates and portfolios in an event at Hilton Park, Leigh.
The special guest and speaker, appearing at the event from 6.30 pm and 8.30 pm, will be Shelagh Murphy who is visiting from the University of Central Lancashire.
